I play soccer games from 1991 (ISS, fifa, pro evolution) and i enjoyed them very much until 2007. At 2007 these gigantic titles (FIFA and PES) started to conclude online gaming and from that chronical point scripting destroyed the fun for many players like me.
I will explain the scripting for any of you that is not familiar with it.
- My defenders will for some reason just stop and drop their hands after a successful tackle allowing the opponent who just lost the ball to just take the ball back.
- My fastest strikers will slow down to a crawl when sprinting towards the opponents box
- If the ball goes loose I cannot do a thing about it, my players just stand and watch as opponent takes it
- Perfectly timed/placed tackles result in my player looking like he got hit by a brick wall and often being thrown off balance (for no reason) again relinquishing the ball possession.
- When AI is going to score I can feel it, they are unstoppable. 3+ perfect tackles totally swarmed by my players and I cannot take the ball.
With a few words you dont have your own full luck in your hands but the engine decides for a big part of that.
So at 2015 i discovered a new genre of soccer games where you basically participate in a football community as a football player and you are responsible for your actions in the team. My first experience with this genre was when i played Wold of Soccer and now at TPM which is a much more advanced version of the previous game. In this game there is no scripting at all. The controls are very easy but to become pro you need a lot of practice and it has a big learning curve. Most of the guys in the community are friendly and help new players (with some few exceptions). Even if this game is fantastic for me it has a small community so this is the major problem. European players play at Netherlands server. There is also a brazilian server and a usa server. In conclusion i will add the pros and the cons about this game.
PROS : no scripting at all, Biggest part of the community are nice guys, easy controls but hard learning curve if you want to be pro, gives you a sensation of being a player of a football team and responsible for all your social and gameplay actions.
CONS: its graphics cant be compared with the best seller soccer games, ping plays a big factor for the player's performance, small community at this chronical point.
